Job Description:
Overall Job Purpose: As the Shift Supervisor Secondary Crushing, you will play a crucial role in the Crushing team, reporting to the Superintendent Crushing. Your accountability will extend to the effective and efficient field operation under secondary crushing, focusing on maximizing production and minimizing costs while ensuring operational sustainability. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing secondary crushers, conveyors, and ancillary equipment, with a specific emphasis on performance monitoring and adherence to safety and operational standards.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Direct accountability for the performance of field crushing operators, assistant operators, and control room operators.
- Ensure compliance with legal appointments under Zambian Mining Regulations.
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure strict adherence to HSE standards.
- Oversee real-time operations to achieve and exceed KPIs for secondary and pebble crusher throughput.
- Execute daily operating instructions and conduct routine tasks in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other supervisors and coordinators to maximize crushing throughput.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting on shift performance, equipment status, and focus areas.
- Address plant defects promptly and liaise with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Manage team members’ training, competencies, and behaviors.
- Control and reduce operational costs while ensuring operational efficiency.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Superintendent Crushing.

Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in operational roles in crushing and mineral processing circuits.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience at a supervisory level.
- Significant experience in large, complex base metals processing plants.
- Experience in copper concentrator operations highly regarded.
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office).
Qualifications:
- Grade twelve (12) certificate.
- Diploma/Degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering.
- Eligibility to hold a legal appointment as defined by the Mining Regulations of Zambia.
