Job Description:
Overall Job Purpose: The Engineer, Data & Value Chain plays a crucial role in optimizing our mining value chain through data-driven analysis and strategic planning. By analyzing comprehensive data from the entire value chain, this position identifies bottlenecks, streamlines efficiencies, and uncovers growth opportunities. Utilizing historical modeling and advanced analytics, it empowers proactive decision-making and drives continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, it ensures aligned data strategies across the Enterprise business.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze mining data across the value chain to identify bottlenecks, operational efficiencies, and growth opportunities.
- Utilize historical modeling to forecast trends and proactively address operational challenges.
- Integrate operational data with financial perspectives to derive actionable insights and facilitate value chain optimization.
- Develop real-time, interactive dashboards that consolidate mining metrics and financial insights for strategic decision-making.
- Act as a liaison between mining operations and finance teams to advocate for strategies aligned with operational realities and economic implications.
- Apply mining-specific analytical methodologies to assess operational risks and financial consequences.
- Leverage advanced analytics to propose improvements in mining processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide strategic guidance to Analyst, Data and Value Chain to align efforts with business goals and mining analytics requirements.

- Deep understanding of mining operations, financial intricacies, and the mining value chain.
- Proficiency in merging data into a centralized repository and designing interactive dashboards.
- Strong analytical skills to identify process gaps and implement solutions.
- Ability to manage relationships and balance assertiveness with cooperation.

Experience Required:
- Minimum five years of experience in data analytics and financial analysis, preferably within the mining or related industry.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Power BI, Python, SQL, Azure, Hadoop, AWS, and statistical analytics.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software or Data Engineering, Finance, Mining, Engineering, Processing, or related subject area.
Qualifications:
- PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management qualification is beneficial.
- Microsoft Certified Data Engineer certification is an advantage.
