About the Job: Sous Chef

Job Description:

We are currently seeking dynamic and self-motivated Food and Beverage production professionals who are eager to advance their careers.

As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Specialty Outlet Chef in the day-to-day operation and take over all responsibilities in their absence, striving to achieve the highest level of guest satisfaction.

General Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and maintenance to ensure food safety and quality as per ADFCA and HACCP guidelines.
  • Ensure dishes leaving the kitchen meet portion and presentation standards set by the Outlet Chef.
  • Collaborate closely with other key departments to ensure smooth operation.
  • Control food costs by managing store requisitions and purchases to achieve budgeted profitability.
  • Conduct daily briefings with team members in the absence of the Specialty Outlet Chef to ensure efficient communication.
  • Handle guest complaints, suggestions, and requests directly to ensure high guest satisfaction.
  • Foster employee development within the kitchen team to achieve the highest quality standards.
  • Plan effectively for kitchen equipment and operating supplies to ensure smooth operations.
  • Conduct competition checks as instructed to stay updated and competitive in the local market.
  • Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly manner to protect guests’ and employees’ health and safety.

Skills:

  • Degree in hospitality preferred.
  • Previous experience in Front Office Department within a hotel.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; knowledge of an additional language is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Computer literate; experience with Opera is advantageous.
