Job Title: Electrical Specialist – Trainer

Location: North Mara Gold Mine, Tanzania

Position Type: Full-time

Overview:

We are currently seeking qualified technicians to join our team as Underground Electrical Specialist – Trainers at North Mara Gold Mine in Tanzania. This role is well-suited for individuals with strong customer-centric and technical support experience for Sandvik underground drill and electrical equipment. As a key member of our established team, you will play a crucial role in driving the reliability and availability of underground mining electrical components while supporting a zero-harm safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Safety Leader at all times.
  • Install and repair electrical fire suppression systems.
  • Conduct repairs on all components brought to the workshop (e.g., cylinders).
  • Prepare and provide daily reports to site supervisors based on job records.
  • Evaluate components for forward planning purposes.
  • Perform Root Cause & Failure analysis and produce reports on components.
  • Recommend and/or develop product or process changes to improve equipment performance or better meet customer needs.
  • Prioritize and schedule follow-up services/maintenance plans.
  • Assist customers in proper Maintenance planning and ensure that all planned works are executed according to required Standards both Engineering and Safety.
  • Ensure all filing (history) is up to date and managed correctly.
  • Conduct Safety and Housekeeping in the workshops and all surrounding work areas.
  • Offer Practical Hands-on Training for the Sandvik Team as well as the Clients Team, with record-keeping and reporting on training program needs and performance.
  • Perform duties in accordance with required standards and adhere to all Company Policies & Procedures, including those related to Safety, Health, Environment, Quality & Community Relations.

Your Profile:

To be successful in this position, you must be trade qualified or have similar qualifications disciplined in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics systems. Additionally, you should have:

  • Extensive experience in a similar role in the underground mining industry, with a minimum of seven years’ experience maintaining Sandvik underground drill and electrical equipment.
  • Strong understanding of underground drilling and electrical machine operating principles and practices, combined with deep working knowledge of the Sandvik product range.
  • Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships.
  • Training experience or qualifications will be viewed favorably.
