Background

TCRA SACCOS Ltd, a registered Savings and Credit Cooperative Society, invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the position of Office Attendant in Dar es Salaam. The society operates under the Co-operative Societies Act no 6 of 2013, with the primary goal of mobilizing savings and providing credit facilities to its members.

Job Purpose

The Office Attendant will be responsible for effectively managing insurance activities, loans, and mobile money transactions.

Reporting Relationship

The incumbent will report to the Manager of TCRA SACCOS Ltd.

Person Specifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Insurance, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions.

Experience:

  • A minimum of three years post-qualification experience in SACCOS/Micro-finance/Insurance/Banking or a similar field.

Competences:

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail and a focus on quality and integrity.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with effective interpersonal and relationship management abilities.
  • High business acumen, including maintaining confidentiality of customer information.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of computer and internet applications, with working skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player.
  • Results and performance-driven with a commitment to realizing the society’s strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Office Attendant will be responsible for various tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Handling insurance activities as an agent on behalf of TCRA SACCOS Ltd.
  • Advising the Manager on technical issues related to insurance agency activities.
  • Preparing recommendations for the annual budget and plan concerning insurance investments.
  • Ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of all required submission reports to the Manager.
  • Making follow-ups on insurance claims from customers.
  • Safely storing all files related to insurance activities.
  • Receiving, recording, and scrutinizing members’ loan applications for further processing.
  • Ensuring timely repayment of all issued loans and submitting reports to the Credit Committee.
  • Compiling periodic reports on the loan portfolio classification and portfolio at risk.
  • Designing, developing, and marketing new financial products and services while reviewing existing products for continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring loans are issued in accordance with cooperative regulations, by-laws, and credit policies.
  • Performing other duties assigned by the Manager or supervisor.

Age Limits: The applicant must be between 30-45 years old.

General Terms and Conditions of Service: This post carries a competitive remuneration package, and the successful candidate will work on a two-year renewable contract. Other terms and conditions are as stipulated in the Financial Regulations of the Society.
