Job Description: Financial Analyst

Position Overview:

The Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting the company’s financial decision-making processes. By diligently collecting, tracking, and adjusting the company’s finances, the incumbent ensures the accuracy and compliance of financial records. Responsibilities span from financial audits to reconciling bank statements, contributing to the overall financial health and strategy of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Adherence to Regulatory Standards:
    • Ensure strict compliance with all firm, local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations.
  2. Financial Reporting:
    • Gather, analyze, and report financial information.
    • Develop periodic reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, etc.
  3. Data Presentation:
    • Present financial data to managers, investors, and other relevant entities.
  4. Record Maintenance:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records throughout the year.
    • Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve inconsistencies.
  5. Taxation:
    • Calculate and file taxes, staying abreast of current financial and accounting legislation.
  6. Decision Support:
    • Assist management in decision-making by creating budgets and financial predictions.
  7. Cash Handling:
    • Deal with cash transactions and reconcile bank accounts.
    • Manage invoicing for all branches and maintain organized files.
  8. Daily Operations:

    • Reconcile EFD and system transactions on a daily basis.
    • Maintain a cash sales tally system and compile daily cash sales and petty cash reports.
    • Handle petty cash expenses and ensure accurate daily posting.
  9. Payroll and Stock Management:
    • Prepare monthly payroll and oversee stock take processes.
  10. Invoice Management:
    • Conduct thorough checks on upcountry groups to ensure timely receipt of all invoices.
  11. Tax Returns:
    • Prepare and file tax returns, including VAT, SDL, PAYE, and Withholding Tax.
  12. Transaction Management:

    • Manage and modify transactions such as accounts payable and receivable.
  13. Documentation:
    • Keep track of petty cash and maintain copies of all invoices, receipts, vouchers, and bank slips.
  14. Additional Responsibilities:
    • Assume additional duties as required by senior management.

Requirements:

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience; CPA qualification is preferable.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and computer skills.
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics, accounting, and financial operations.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments, work efficiently in a fast-paced setting, and pay meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to work effectively under pressure.
