Position Overview: Agrimatco LTD is a leading international agricultural distribution company operating in 50 countries. We specialize in distributing crop protection, crop nutrition, seeds, veterinary products, public health items, irrigation systems, and agricultural machinery & tools. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Machinery Unit Manager to oversee our Machinery and Spare Parts department at Agrimatco Tanzania Ltd. The role demands strong leadership, strategic planning, and a commitment to achieving sales targets while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.

Ideal Candidate: We are searching for a Machinery Unit Manager with expertise in agricultural engineering, mechanical engineering, or mechatronics. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving sales targets, developing effective department processes, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. With 5-10 years of experience in the field, the candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of the agricultural machinery and spare parts market, including sales, marketing, and after-sales service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base.
  • Lead and mentor the sales team, setting objectives, and monitoring performance for maximum productivity and sales growth.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and challenges, adjusting sales strategies accordingly.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets across Tanzania country territories.
  • Develop, communicate, enforce, and monitor department processes in collaboration with country sales teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Offer technical and commercial insights to aid company management in product identification, introduction, and positioning.
  • Compile comprehensive supplier information and work with management to introduce new product types.
  • Provide technical support to clients and coordinate with management to provide alternative solutions if required.
  • Consolidate and strengthen relationships with all distribution and sales channels.
  • Monitor stock of machinery and spare parts and prevent any shortages.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Machinery engineering related to Agriculture Machinery and Spare Parts.
  • Proven track record in Sales, marketing, and after-sales service.
  • Deep understanding of customer service principles and issue resolution.

Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in Excel.
  • Strong leadership skills.
