Position Description:

The Barrick Africa Middle East Team is looking to add a Superintendent – Asset Protection to our team. We’re seeking individuals who can uphold Barrick’s core values while contributing to our mission. If you’re ready to join a dynamic team and make a lasting impact, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety and security of people, property, and assets at North Mara Gold Mine.
• Manage security for all employees and contractors at the mine site.
• Provide insights to the Security Manager on security crime trends and risk assessments.
• Execute duties in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Maintain high standards of security training for all personnel.
• Ensure compliance with company security procedures and policies.
• Manage security-related aspects of mine operations within Tanzania’s legislative framework.
• Represent the company in meetings with government and stakeholders.
• Anticipate and address emergencies and contingencies affecting mine security and safety.

Qualification Requirements:

• Higher qualification/Degree in a related field.
• Qualification in Security operations and asset protection.
• Awareness of Mines Health and Safety Act.

Experience and Competencies Needed:

• 10 years of leadership and management experience.
• Experience in project management and surveillance projects.
• Proficiency in crime investigation and asset protection practices.
• Strong understanding of surveillance equipment capabilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and analytical skills.
• Financial management ability.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and foster relationships.
• Excellent communication and administrative skills.
• Integrity and cultural awareness.
• Understanding of the Tanzanian government system.
