Key Responsibilities:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Activity – Implementation and reporting of planned activities (30%)

  • Participate in planning and budgeting for work plans, implementing planned activities, and monitoring/reporting progress.
  • Facilitate and monitor the implementation of planned activities and community-level engagements.
  • Mobilize and facilitate stakeholder engagements during planning and development meetings, workshops, and seminars.
  • Identify local-level partners, support and facilitate partnerships in the implementation of planned activities.
  • Support the collection and documentation of impact and success stories on a regular basis.

End Results:

  • Execution of all planned activities within the financial year, as per the budget, and realization of intended outputs.
  • Monitored implementations with data for report compilation on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis.

Activity – Community engagement and advocacy (20%)

  • Collaborate with CHWs, health facility staff, and CHMTs in advocating for improved maternal and child nutrition in areas where WVT is present.
  • Ensure the intentional inclusion of RC families in health and nutrition activities.
  • Support the strengthening of community structures to improve health and nutrition, such as forming nurturing care groups, school nutrition clubs, and nutrition support groups.
  • Support local government authorities’ efforts in strengthening maternal and child nutrition.

End Results:

  • Active community groups.
  • Number of RC families/RC children benefiting from Health & Nutrition interventions.

Activity – Management of Sponsorship Performance (15%)

  • Monitor RCs in line with partnership standards.
  • Manage RC records and files securely.
  • Support RCs in corresponding with sponsors in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate processing of special mails, including Christmas cards, spontaneous letters, APR introductory letters within partnership standards.
  • Conduct and produce quality periodic mailings – Annual Progress Report (APR) and Christmas Cards.

End Results:

  • AP green SOI report meeting sponsorship business standards.
  • Professional correspondences meeting sponsors’ expectations.

Activity – Monitoring of Registered Children (15%)

  • Support the development of an integrated monitoring plan in the assigned area with AP stakeholders.
  • Analyze HOPE Horizon management reports and follow up on critical RC findings using case management tools.
  • Compile monitoring reports for management action.
  • Hold regular meetings with Child Monitors, guardians/parents, and child protection committees to address findings from monitoring.
  • Identify and train volunteers/monitor partners on sponsorship philosophy and partnership standards.

End Results:

  • AP green SOI report meeting sponsorship business standards.
  • Professional correspondences meeting sponsors’ expectations.

Activity – Protection and Wellbeing (10%)

  • Ensure health and nutrition interventions incorporate children’s feedback into knowledge sharing sessions.
  • Monitor wellbeing and child abuse cases, reporting any child rights violations in accordance with WVT Safeguarding policy.
  • Sensitize children, guardians/parents, and other stakeholders about children’s rights and responsibilities.
  • Facilitate spiritual nurture of children.
  • Report adult and child safeguarding incidents and support proper implementation of the WVT Safeguarding Incident Preparedness Plans.

End Results:

  • Meaningful participation of children in decisions affecting their lives.
  • Children’s feedback informing programme activities regularly.
  • Community operating with knowledge of Child Protection and reduced child abuse.

Activity – Networking (10%)

  • Facilitate networking relationships with wide stakeholders such as government, church, faith-based organization leaders, and other key partners.
  • Facilitate health and nutrition stakeholders’ meetings.
  • Attend health and nutrition activities at various levels.
  • Foster partnerships with local institutions in RC monitoring.

End Results:

  • WVT championing good relationships and becoming a partner of choice.

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Professional Experience

  • Minimum Qualification required: Bachelor of Science in Home Economics; Human Nutrition; Family and Consumer Science; Public Health; Nursing, or any other related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years working experience in Health and/or Nutrition projects at the community level.

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement

  • Work environment: Few offices with frequent visits to the field.
  • Travel: 05% Domestic travel is required, and on-call: 05%.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to work under pressure, working with communities, government, and partners sitting over a long time in the office.

Language Requirements

  • Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
