Job Description:

Position Description:
Roster: 6 Weeks On/ 3 Weeks Off

Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Safety System & Administrator Officer to join and grow our team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure safe work practices, including attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, using required PPE, and reporting incidents/accidents.
  2. Keep track of site documents, procedures, manuals, and reports efficiently.
  3. Update data in Isometrix, AME KPI folders, and AME SharePoint reports.
  4. Arrange and manage travel arrangements for Department Contractors and visitors.
  5. Update and complete requisitions on SAP and initiate payments on the SAP platform.
  6. Drive compliance with Barrick Bulyanhulu Document Control Procedure.
  7. Control access to documents to ensure the correct versions are used.
  8. Produce site document status and progress reports to OHS Manager.
  9. Conduct periodic site department document reviews and audits.
  10. Manage inspection reports and site action register to ensure hazard control.
  11. Oversee compliance with the ISO45001:2018 OHS system and participate in audits.
  12. Manage and oversee Barrick’s Isometrix system software as the site administrator.
  13. Communicate changes to procedures, policies, regulations, and the Barrick SharePoint system to employees.
  14. Provide training to employees on effectively using the Barrick Isometrix System for Health and Safety issues.
  15. Prepare department weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  16. Maintain a detailed record of safety-related incidents, investigation reports, and corrective action plans.
  17. Identify areas of weakness in the organization’s safety system and develop improvement strategies.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor/Diploma in Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, or Equivalent.
  • Valid Tanzania Driving License.
  • ISO Management System Knowledge is an added advantage.

Experience and Competencies Needed:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in the Mining Industry.
  • Management System Certification Bodies is an added advantage.

Skills/Knowledge Requirements:

  • ISO Management System Audit Planning.
  • Hazard identification and Risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Material & Practice.
  • Fluent in written and verbal English & Swahili.
  • Computer literate in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • High levels of confidentiality and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Good work ethics and a strong attitude to safety.
