NBC Bank offers a diverse range of retail, business, corporate and investment banking, as well as wealth management products and services.

Job Summary: The Relationship Manager – Insurance will work closely with the Head of Bancassurance, focusing on insurance business development, overall business oversight, and ensuring increased insurance penetration in the bank. The role is pivotal in driving sales, enhancing productivity, and monitoring performance, including training, customer query handling, and providing exceptional customer service.

Job Description:

Main Accountabilities:

1. People Management:

  • Work with the Head of Insurance to agree on business direction and conduct insurance business.
  • Deal with branches and service centers to ensure a full understanding of insurance processes and procedures.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all matters related to insurance business in the branches.
  • Provide support and training to branch staff.
  • Ensure that branch staff manage customer queries and complaints, taking ownership and resolving them in a timely manner.
  • Assist in creating an empowering environment for branch managers and staff, encouraging individual ownership and initiative in driving Insurance.

2. Business Management:

  • Co-ordinate all Bancassurance activities within the allocated business segment and branches.
  • Support all bank departments on insurance matters.
  • Prepare management information as required.
  • Provide guidance and training to bank staff on insurance matters.
  • Manage end-to-end insurance processes in the branches and other assigned business departments.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance industry requirements.
  • Be accountable for achieving annual income targets as directed by the Head of Insurance.
  • Monitor progress towards achieving targets on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Establish relationships with key clients or business influencers in the local area.

3. Compliance:

  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met, informing and ensuring compliance with the insurance act.
  • Ensure staff dealing with insurance are adequately trained.
  • Ensure the claims process is followed and adhered to by both staff and branches.
  • Conduct visits to branches, service centers, and outlets to ensure correct adherence to processes and procedures.
  • Communicate all changes relating to insurance activities or requirements in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for all audit matters related to insurance in the branches.

4. Customer Service:

  • Provide support to outlets and other functions on Bancassurance related matters.
  • Regularly interact with internal service providers (e.g., Operations, customer service, and Marketing) to ensure fast and efficient service to customers (both internal and external).

Experience & Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Insurance or any related studies.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in the insurance industry or a related industry with a strong sales background.

Qualifications:

  • Business, Commerce, and Management Studies, Business Improvement Orientation, Digital familiarity, Enabling team success, Experience in a similar environment, Openness to change, Operational administration, Product and/or Service Knowledge, Quality orientation.
