Asilia Lodges And Camps Ltd is currently seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Tanzanian Guide for the position of Junior Guide & Field Guide. This individual will play a crucial role in leading guests on various game drives across Northern Tanzania, ensuring an enriching experience and unforgettable stay.

Scope and Purpose of Job: As a Guide, you will be responsible for leading guests on game drives, utilizing your expert knowledge of wildlife, plants, ecosystems, and the cultural heritage of Tanzania. Your role is pivotal in enhancing guests’ experiences and contributing to the overall success of Asilia’s operations.

Duties, Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

Daily Duties:

• Provide comprehensive knowledge on wildlife, history, Tanzanian culture, geology, birds, trees, and plants across all operational areas.
• Articulately convey information to guests in an engaging manner.
• Collaborate with the Camp Manager and Head Guide, reporting any issues.
• Conduct regular vehicle checks, ensuring they are in excellent working condition.
• Actively host guests during game drives, dinners, and pre-dinner drinks.
• Monitor and maintain first aid kits in vehicles, applying high-level first aid skills when necessary.
• Promote Asilia camps, wildlife, and community projects to guests, sharing updates through social media.

Requirements:

• Awareness of park road networks and alternative routes.
• Adherence to guiding protocols, National Park rules, and Asilia’s code of conduct.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Junior Guide, Field Guide, or similar role in the hospitality industry.
• Registration with the Board.
• Fluent in English (additional languages advantageous).
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
• Punctuality and commitment to high-level customer service.
• Ability to handle sensitive matters with efficiency and discretion.
• Age limit not exceeding 35 years.
• Possession of a Class C driving license.
• Willingness to be based in remote camp locations.
