Job Overview:

NMB Bank is seeking a dynamic individual for the position of Head of Internal Audit – ICT and Data Analytics. The role involves providing leadership and overseeing internal audits for Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Cybersecurity, and Data Analytics to achieve the objectives of the Internal Audit Function (IAF).

Main Responsibilities:

Strategic Focus:

• Develop and execute the annual audit plan for ICT, Cybersecurity, and Data Analytics.
• Implement the audit strategy for Data Analytics, automation, robotics (AI), and continuous auditing.
• Oversee audit assignments related to ICT operations, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and projects.

Leadership and People Management Focus:

• Coach and train auditors on ICT risks, IT tools, and analytics.
• Manage the Audit team, supporting professional development through mentoring.
• Lead discussions with business leaders on audit observations and root causes.

Operations Focus:

• Conduct investigations and special audits as requested by management or the Board.
• Manage stakeholder relationships within the bank, Bank of Tanzania, and external auditors/consultants.
• Ensure compliance with internal audit standards, banking regulations, and consumer protection requirements.
• Stay updated on developments in ICT and cyber security impacting the bank.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Critical thinking and professional skepticism.
• Knowledge of internal audit standards (IPPF) and ISACA Framework.
• Understanding of fraud risk assessment in an IT environment.
• Banking regulations and risks and controls knowledge.
• Analytical mind with attention to detail.
• IT Project management and projects life cycle knowledge.
• Mastery of ICT and audit tools such as data analytics software.
• Integrity, objectivity, and leadership skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT and Computer science.
• Professional Certification in IT auditing, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, or accounting qualification (CIA, ACPA, CISA, CISM, PMO, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in IT audits, with 4 years at a managerial level in a bank or audit firm for financial institutions.
