About Us: VAIMA is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in science and laboratory technologies to lead the expansion of our healthcare solutions and medical devices in the Eswatini market. We are looking for a candidate who can combine scientific expertise with strategic business acumen to identify opportunities, build partnerships, and drive growth in the healthcare sector.
Main Purpose of the Job: The Business Development Manager will play a key role in expanding healthcare solutions and medical devices in the Eswatini market. The role requires a deep understanding of healthcare technologies, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification:
- Conduct comprehensive research to identify trends, gaps, and emerging needs in the healthcare solutions and medical devices sector within Eswatini.
- Analyze local healthcare infrastructure and regulatory environment to tailor solutions that align with market demands and compliance requirements.
- Identify potential clients, distributors, and partners to establish a strong network within the region.
- Business Strategy and Partnerships:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop a robust business development strategy for entering and expanding in the Eswatini healthcare market.
- Formulate strategic partnerships with local healthcare institutions, government bodies, and medical equipment suppliers to enhance distribution channels and market presence.
- Establish relationships with healthcare professionals and associations to gain insights into local medical practices and challenges.
- Solution Customization and Technical Presentations:
- Work closely with the technical team to deeply understand the features, functionalities, and applications of our healthcare solutions and devices.
- Customize and adapt products to meet the specific needs and preferences of healthcare providers in Eswatini, ensuring compliance with local standards and regulations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients regarding product capabilities and implementation.
- Sales and Revenue Generation:
- Develop and execute a targeted sales strategy to drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities and nurturing existing relationships.
- Build a strong sales pipeline by actively seeking out potential clients and maintaining regular engagement with leads.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop persuasive sales collateral and proposals that highlight the benefits and technical aspects of our healthcare solutions.
- Project Management and Implementation:
- Oversee the successful implementation of healthcare projects, ensuring they are executed on time, within scope, and aligned with client requirements.
- Work closely with the technical team to address any challenges that arise during project implementation and ensure seamless execution.
- Maintain open communication with clients to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns.
- Market Intelligence and Reporting:
- Stay informed about advancements and trends in healthcare technologies, medical devices, and healthcare practices.
- Regularly gather and analyze market intelligence, competitive activities, and regulatory changes to inform business strategies.
- Provide timely reports to senior management on business development activities, pipeline progress, and market insights.
Key Decisions:
- Develop business development strategy for the territory.
- Draft and oversee the implementation of the budget.
- Decide on types of training and their frequency.
- Decide how business development campaigns are conducted, as well as marketing and promotional plans.
- Decide on which new markets to venture into.
- Decide which new products and value-added services to introduce.
Supervisory Controls: Receive supervision from the Regional Manager through meetings, emails, memos, and daily interaction. Receive direction and input from the Head Of Healthcare in Head Office.

Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Health Care related field.
- Master’s degree / MBA will be an added advantage.
- Marketing diplomas or certificates or any business qualification such as Digital Platforms will be an add-on.
Experience Required:
- At least five years in a similar role.
- At least three years of supervisory and leading experience.
