Job Overview

Our objective is to build a world class Global Trade Services organization. TE Connectivity is seeking a passionate Communications professional excited to step into a fast-paced environment and upskill on the job in our corporate Global Trade Services (GTS) organization. This will be the first communications role in the GTS function and will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the GTS communications activities, including improving and sustaining communication channels, supporting enterprise-wide projects and programs, employee engagement, executive communications, and content development for the company- and GTS-specific channels. This person in this role will have the potential to develop into the organization’s change management expert and champion.

The person in this role will report to and work closely with the GTS Program Management Office (PMO) Senior Manager of Command Media, presenting a great opportunity to learn about international trade compliance in a global environment while making considerable impact through communications.

This role will require frequent collaboration within the Global Trade function across various sites, businesses, and countries. For specific projects and deliverables, this role will require partnership with non-Trade stakeholders from Engineering, Supply Chain, Legal, and Business Development disciplines, among others. The key focus of this position will be to build relationships with the TE community, improve current communication networks and channels, and proactively support engagement throughout the GTS organization.

Roles & Responsibilities

Communication Channel Development

•Build relationships to understand and fill communication gaps within the GTS organization

•Use analytics and data to create and improve existing communication channels targeted toward GTS and other functions impacted by global trade compliance topics

•Continuously and aggressively seek innovative platforms and plans to reach and engage our global business community

•Manage and continuously improve key communication channels within the function (ex. SharePoint, shared Outlook mailboxes, Yammer, etc.)

Leadership Communications

•Serve as a trusted advisor for GTS leaders in preparation for internal communications

Content Creation & Storytelling

•Serve as the GTS organization’s “corporate journalist,” documenting our successes and initiatives across geographies and businesses to build an atmosphere of recognition and collaboration while highlighting the organization’s value to the business

•Support GTS leaders and team members through a variety of communication tactics including townhalls and trainings

•Maintain the function’s internal SharePoint site to keep colleagues informed of our function’s activities and organizational structure

Implementing a culture of continuous improvement:

•Promote and communicate GTS organization structure changes to maintain positive culture

•Partner with GTS PMO Risk Management to promote adoption of policy and procedure requirements that need reinforcing

•Partner with GTS PMO Learning & Talent Development to create learning content suitable for different audiences and promote participation in GTS training modules

•Work with all levels of GTS management to make sure projects have sufficient awareness and to encourage adoption and prevent resistance

•Act as a creative brain trust to infuse new ideas and creative solutions for project deployments and change initiatives

Implementing change management best practices:

Learning and championing change management principles and best practices to support the GTS organization’s evolution

Education

•Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, public relations, journalism, or related field

•5+ years’ experience in corporate communications or similar role

•Impeccable writing, editing and storytelling skills, and digital content creation with a commitment to quality

•Excellent organizational habits and priority management

•Experience and drive to identify problems, plan to solve them, and execute that plan

•Comfort and professionalism in interacting with management or executives

•Ability to foster teamwork

•Demonstrated ability to research and make data-driven decisions

•Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office suite of products

•Preferred: Experience supporting colleagues from around the world in global business environment; comfort working with people from different cultures and backgrounds (multiple-language skills are a plus).

•Preferred: Experience creating and delivering communications in a compliance-related field, or in an industrial or manufacturing industry setting

•Interest in learning change management principles and best practices

•Some travel may be necessary

•This position is remote , anywhere in Europe
