Metro South Hospital and Health Service are looking for a Clinical Nurse – Integrated Mental Health & Substance Use Service to join their team to provide advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients with complex mental health care needs, ensuring quality standards are met.

About The Role


The Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence (SQCoE) in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care is a Queensland Health service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.


The Clinical Nurse will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a Primary Health Care / General Practice environment to create and implement an innovative community based mental health model of care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Mental health clinical services will include assessment, case management, collaborative care planning and therapeutic interventions within a recovery framework.


  • Provide expert clinical leadership in patient's/resident's/client's assessment, care planning and practice and role model to and collaborate with the healthcare team.
  • Responsible for and able to function in complex situations while providing support and direction to the healthcare team.
  • Act as a clinical and educational resource within an area based on knowledge, skills and experience to inform evidence-based practice.
