The Tanzania Red Cross Society is a voluntary humanitarian organization established by an Act of Parliament, dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance during disasters and emergencies. Recognized internationally, TRCS plays a vital role in delivering humanitarian services across Tanzania with the support of numerous partners.

Job Description: TRCS is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the position of Field Civil Engineer Officer. The successful candidate will oversee the timely and effective implementation of construction works under various projects in partnership with TRCS. The role involves close collaboration with contractors, government engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide professional services to oversee the design and construction of sites, collaborating closely with government engineers and relevant authorities.
• Review and produce detailed drawings, sketches, and designs for construction projects.
• Develop and review bill of quantities (BoQ) to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
• Conduct field inspections to verify the progress and quality of construction work.
• Manage all aspects of construction follow-up, including coordination, documentation, and supervision of contractors.
• Ensure compliance with national safety standards and regulations throughout the construction process.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Program Manager.
• Assist project teams in implementing community activities related to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).

Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Water Engineering.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Arch CAD, EPANET, and hydraulic calculations.
• Strong project management skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in construction and WASH projects.
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili, both oral and written.
