FHI 360, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing human development globally, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Technical Officer, Biomedical Services, based in Morogoro, Tanzania, for its EpiC project.

In Tanzania, our EpiC project aims to achieve and maintain HIV epidemic control by providing technical assistance and direct service delivery to enhance HIV case-finding, prevention, and treatment programming.

Job Description:

The Technical Officer, Biomedical Services, will play a pivotal role in implementing and expanding integrated quality HIV/FP services for key and vulnerable populations (KVPs) in designated health facilities, mobile/outreach services, and hotspots. Responsibilities include managing clinical service provision, overseeing HIV testing and counseling, TB screening, partner notification, family planning services, and ensuring adherence to national guidelines and protocols. The officer will also lead training activities, provide technical assistance, and contribute to program reporting and documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • MD Degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in public health, nursing, or MBA with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or clinical officer with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong clinical experience in HIV/AIDS testing, counseling, care, treatment, and family planning.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills in English and Kiswahili.
  • Experience in clinical training, mentoring, and liaising with health authorities and NGOs/CBOs.
  • In-depth understanding of Tanzania's healthcare system, particularly the public health system.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
