As a Charge Back Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring minimal bank exposure and losses due to disputed card transactions while supporting Absa's card business in Africa.

Job Summary: The primary purpose of this role is to analyze disputed card transactions (chargebacks) and make decisions based on schemes' rules and regulations, ensuring minimal or no losses to the bank. You will process chargebacks, pre-arbitration, arbitration, and compliance cases against the bank, working closely with the team leader to identify risks and implement controls in the investigation process.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze disputed card transactions and make decisions in accordance with schemes' rules and procedures.
Process chargebacks, pre-arbitration, arbitration, and compliance cases against the bank.
Monitor and respond to incoming arbitration, pre-arbitration, and pre-compliance cases.
Educate yourself on Visa, MasterCard, and UPI chargeback procedures and Absacard procedures.
Resolve cardholder issues in a timely manner and continuously challenge the status quo for improved efficiency.

Experience and Qualifications:

Understanding of Absa Africa Strategy and banking products, processes, and services.
Knowledge of card business and ability to learn quickly.
Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Business, Commerce, and Management Studies.
