Position Description:

Barrick Gold Corporation is currently seeking a highly motivated UG Maintenance Supervisor to join our Africa Middle East Team. If you are passionate about safety, integrity, and driving continuous improvement, we invite you to apply and become part of our dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety of all employees and contractors by fostering a true safety culture.
• Manage SAP processes for efficient work order management, parts ordering, and job history recording.
• Develop and implement standard work procedures to enhance team productivity.
• Commission mechanical equipment and oversee safe work practices.
• Implement reporting procedures for maintenance, planning, and cost control.
• Manage workshop facilities and ensure proper maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Support budgeting and cost control for maintenance activities.
• Develop long-term maintenance plans and provide input into training packages.
• Mentor and provide ongoing training to develop a competent maintenance team.
• Implement and enforce safe work procedures and maintenance protocols.
• Take appropriate action to address substandard performance or behavior.
• Proactively manage security to prevent theft and fraud.
• Perform any other duties assigned by superiors.

Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Tertiary engineering qualifications are essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Clear and effective communication skills in English, both oral and written.
• Customer service skills and the ability to identify safety hazards.
• Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
• Possession of a valid driving license.
• Ability to multitask and achieve tasks on time with minimal supervision.

Experience and Competencies:

• Minimum of five (5) years working experience in underground maintenance operations.
• Relevant trade qualification in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in coaching and training employees.
• Proficiency in computerized maintenance systems, e.g., SAP.
• Experience in maintenance of Sandvik underground equipment and auxiliary equipment.
• Excellent knowledge of maintenance standards, methods, and procedures.
• Ability to work for long hours and medical fitness for the position and environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Valid Tanzanian driver’s license and proficiency in driving light vehicles.
