Job Purpose:
The ICT Officer at Kilimanjaro Co-operative Bank (KCBL) is responsible for the overall administration and support of ICT systems. This role involves assisting the Head of ICT in implementing, managing, and supporting all systems to facilitate automation and digitization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and ensure data replication and business continuity of the Disaster Recovery (DR) site.
- Conduct training sessions for users on new systems to enhance their efficiency.
- Configure new equipment such as personal computers, printers, modems, laptops, etc.
- Evaluate, implement, and manage best practices for ICT systems security.
- Perform preventive maintenance for hardware and software on all machines.
- Provide support on the Core Banking System (CBS) by consulting vendors to resolve business issues.
- Ensure a secure environment for equipment and safe operation of machines.
- Maintain communication equipment and systems in working condition.
- Ensure compliance with purchase terms and conditions for system equipment, machinery, and software.
- Advise the Head of ICT on innovations and acquisitions of system hardware, software, machinery, equipment, and services.
- Manage and ensure the uptime of core and peripheral systems to support business operations.
- Control access to the Server Room and Disaster Recovery Centre.
- Advise on the acquisition of modern and the best ICT technology for banking operations.
- Ensure compliance of banking systems with monitoring and controlling tools and governance frameworks.
- Develop and review quarterly system Compliance Self-Assessment Templates.
- Maintain compliance with systems access right matrix, system audit trails, and passwords.
- Liaise with departments to provide requisite system reports.
- Identify and manage ICT risks and conduct DR Site tests for the core banking system.
- Ensure proper custody of system data logs, security logs, and CCTV footage.
- Maintain and monitor bank physical security gadgets according to the bank’s Physical Security Policy.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of ICT.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills Required:
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Information Communication Technology or related disciplines.
- Professional IT certifications will be an added advantage.
Knowledge:
- Proficiency in a virtualized, Microsoft server environment.
- Strong understanding of networks in a complex environment.
- Help desk skills with a focus on customer service and user training.
