Job Title: Assistant Manager Logistics

Job Overview:

The Embassy of Switzerland in Tanzania is seeking a proactive and competent Tanzanian professional to join our administrative team as an Assistant Manager Logistics. This role involves providing support and assistance to the Manager Logistics in various fields, including property and facility management, procurement, vehicle pool management, and fixed assets management.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and assist the Manager Logistics in property, building, and facility management.
  • Manage procurement processes and liaise with suppliers.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs of systems and equipment.
  • Supervise and verify services provided by internal staff and third-party suppliers.
  • Manage the vehicle pool and coordinate allocations of drivers.
  • Maintain the fixed assets register and inventory for office materials and supplies.
  • Verify all purchases of office materials and supplies.
  • Conduct the annual physical inventory of all fixed assets.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the local area network (LAN) and user administration.
  • Manage hardware and software acquisition through head office.
  • Support staff in ICT and act as a liaison officer to the head office.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in procurement and logistics or Diploma from a recognized institution in a related field.
  • Good command of written and spoken English/Kiswahili.
  • Knowledge of French and/or German language is an advantage.

Work Experience:

  • 5 years of professional experience, including 2 years in logistics or procurement management.

Other Skills:

  • Excellent IT skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Flair for technical issues and logistics.
  • Good communicator with proven organization skills.
