Key Responsibilities: As the Head of Internal Audit and Investigation, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes within World Vision Tanzania. Reporting directly to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and operationally to the Chief Executive Officer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing an annual internal audit plan in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Conducting internal audits and investigations to evaluate the reliability of information, compliance with regulations, and effectiveness of operations.
  • Providing independent appraisal functions and recommendations for improvement to the Board Audit Committee.
  • Overseeing the compliance system and ensuring adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervising and mentoring internal audit staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in accountancy or business administration, coupled with extensive experience in microfinance. Professional accounting certification is required.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify risks and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with audit software and tools.
  • A determined personality with initiative, integrity, and a commitment to ethical conduct.
