This is a full-time position based in Dar es Salaam, offering the opportunity to contribute to emergency response efforts and support communities in need.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Disaster Response Officer, you will be responsible for supporting emergency response activities, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. Your key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Screening daily operations of emergency response programs to ensure timely and appropriate interventions.
- Facilitating compliance with internal and external regulations, laws, and contractual obligations.
- Coordinating communication between TRCS departments and field offices to ensure effective program implementation.
- Developing capacity statements and compiling experiences related to disaster response teams.
- Assisting in proposal development, including writing, editing, and submission processes.
- Preparing reports on emergency situations, response efforts, and damage assessments.
- Coordinating disaster response activities such as evacuations, shelter management, and special needs programs.
- Supporting the Disaster Response Manager in presentations and material development related to TRCS’s work.
- Maintaining inventory for emergency response supplies and equipment.
- Collecting, analyzing, and disseminating information on humanitarian emergencies and response efforts.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in disaster management, social work, community development, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in disaster response or relief interventions.
- Previous experience working with NGOs or community-based organizations is an advantage.
- Strong communication, networking, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications and report/proposal writing.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to changing situations.
