Job Overview:

The Tanzania Livestock Research Institute (TALIRI) is seeking a Research Assistant to join its team. As a Research Assistant, you will play a crucial role in data collection for on-farm and on-station experiments, keeping research findings and records, preparing research reports, and assisting in various research activities. If you hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Sciences, Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Statistics, or equivalent, this opportunity might be for you.

About TALIRI:

The Tanzania Livestock Research Institute (TALIRI) is a government institute dedicated to livestock research. With locations in Dar es Salaam and Dodoma, TALIRI contributes to the advancement of knowledge and practices in livestock management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in data collection for on-farm and on-station experiments.
2. Maintain research findings and records.
3. Assist senior researchers in preparing research reports.
4. Conduct field data collection, computer data entry, analysis, and gather relevant literature.
5. Prepare and submit technical reports and draft manuscripts to the supervisor.
6. Train and supervise other Technicians.
7. Assist in planning specific research projects.
8. Contribute to the preparation of fundable research proposals and consultancies.
9. Perform any other official duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Sciences, Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Statistics, or equivalent.
• Minimum of an Upper Second Class or an overall minimum pass of grade B+ for unclassified Degrees such as Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine.
