Full Time Position in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania | Painter at US Embassy Dar es Salaam

Job Overview: The US Embassy Dar es Salaam is hiring for the position of Painter. The selected candidate will be responsible for surface preparation, paint selection, and application in various areas. The position is full-time and offers a salary of TZS 18,379,348 per year.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Paint Preparation/Selection (30%): Select premixed paints and primers, choose the proper paint finish and type, cover and protect surfaces not to be painted, and ensure proper paint consistency.
2. Paint Applications (25%): Apply paint to various surfaces indoors and outdoors using brushes, rollers, or spray. Ensure a smooth finish and clean spills promptly.
3. Surface Preparation (15%): Remove old paint, fill holes and cracks, and smoothen surfaces using appropriate tools.
4. Removing Devices in Protected Surfaces (15%): Safely remove devices used in surface protection, reinstate fixtures, and operate scaffolds and ladders when necessary.
5. Tool Maintenance and Backup Duties (15%): Sign for and maintain tools, perform cleanup, secure tools and equipment, and assist with residential and NEC painting assignments.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on working experience in painting.
• Education: Completion of Secondary School (Form IV).
• Language: Good working knowledge (Written/Speaking/Reading) in English and Kiswahili.
• Skills and Abilities: Highly skilled in the proper use and selection of materials, tools, and equipment associated with the painting trade. Must have a valid, current Class BD driver’s license.
