Position Overview:

As a Logistics Associate at JTI, you will be reporting to the Logistics Administration Manager, Daudi Mkumbo, based in Morogoro, Tanzania. The purpose of this position is to support JTILS Leaf quality team by enhancing agility and efficiency in various responsibilities related to on-time shipments execution, reduction of non-conformity reports (NCRs), and ensuring clean deliveries. The role also involves guaranteeing the quality of logistics reports.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • At least 1 year of experience in a related field
  • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare readiness reports and share them with the Global leaf inbound team and TCC for shipping instructions issuance.
  2. Perform all Logistics system transactions for both local and export shipments.
  3. Manage Onsite IPM activities to ensure an infestation-free environment for both green and dry tobacco warehouses.
  4. Ensure proper housekeeping and deep cleaning is done in JTILS tobacco storage areas.
  5. Receive weekly beetle monitoring reports from AOI for review and take necessary actions.
  6. Ensure adherence to JTI warehouse best practices.
  7. Check and ensure the accuracy of shipping documents from freight forwarders before sending them to the Leaf inbound team for review and approval.
  8. Prepare documents and apply for tobacco export permits from Tanzania Tobacco Board through the ATMIS system.
  9. Conduct monthly/quarterly stocktaking for packed tobacco in the warehouse and share results/reports with management.
  10. Support green tobacco receiving operations at the factory.
  11. Manage shipment processes, including receiving shipping instructions from TCC and Leaf inbound teams, planning for factory loading, communicating with transporters for truck positioning, and conducting container and truck quality inspection.
