Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with the maintenance team on equipment breakdowns and coordinate mechanics/technicians’ work.
  • Collaborate with Mining Operations, Technical Services, and Geology departments to ensure daily production targets are met.
  • Ensure the timely release of equipment to the maintenance crew for all required services.
  • Monitor all equipment breakdowns and report correct equipment conditions to the maintenance leadership team.
  • Optimize the usage of mining production equipment to achieve optimum production targets.
  • Collaborate with Mine Foremen/Supervisors/Geologists/Mining Superintendent to ensure daily production targets are achieved.
  • Monitor tasks performed by equipment operators, ensuring work is done safely and environmentally responsibly.
  • Identify and monitor key mining operation performance indicators, directing operations to achieve targets.
  • Control the use of mining operations two-way radio communication per SOP and report any violations or abuses.
  • Produce accurate production and equipment reports for the mining/maintenance leadership team.
  • Advocate for safety, actively participating in all mine site activities to ensure the safety and security of personnel and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate data/records regarding equipment statuses and production load counts.
  • Actively participate in the shift’s operation using all mining SOPs and assist field equipment operators.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Mining Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Sound knowledge of Fleet management Systems, Driver Safety Systems, computer applications, MS Excel and MS Word, mine equipment performance, and production optimization.
  • Good oral/written communication skills in English.
  • Team Player and result-oriented.
  • A valid Tanzanian driving license will be advantageous.
  • Mines Health & Safety Act Awareness.

Experience and Competencies Needed:

  • Good knowledge of mining safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to act and operate as part of a team with a “can do” attitude.
  • Good time management skills and ability to complete tasks in a safe, timely, and professional fashion.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications, mine equipment performance, and production optimization.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the mining industry in a dispatch environment.
  • Skills in using standard office software including the MS Office suite of applications.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Possesses a recognized valid driving license and able to operate a light vehicle.
