Job Title: Cashier

Job Summary:
As a Cashier at Komonoya Supermarket in Tanzania, you will be responsible for efficiently processing customer transactions, handling payments, and delivering exceptional customer service. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and accurate flow of financial transactions while adhering to the specific policies and procedures of Komonoya.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service: Greet customers, answer inquiries, and provide assistance in a friendly and professional manner.
Cash Handling: Accurately handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions while maintaining cash registers, balancing cash drawers, and providing change as needed.
Pricing: Ensure that products are correctly priced and labeled, and process price adjustments or discounts when necessary.
Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the supermarket’s product offerings, promotions, and any special deals to assist customers effectively.
Bagging: Properly bag items and help customers with the loading of their purchases if required.
Returns and Exchanges: Process returns and exchanges according to the supermarket’s return policy.
Receipts and Records: Provide customers with receipts for their purchases, keep transaction records, and handle any necessary paperwork.
Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the cashier area and checkout lanes clean and organized.
Security: Be vigilant and report any suspicious activities, including shoplifting or counterfeit currency.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant store policies and legal regulations, including age-restricted sales such as alcohol and tobacco.
Assisting Other Departments: Assist other store departments when needed, such as restocking shelves or helping with inventory.
Cashier Equipment: Operate cash registers and other cashier equipment, troubleshooting any issues as they arise.

Working Conditions:

This position typically involves working in a retail environment, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods.
May require working on weekends, evenings, and holidays, as supermarkets often have extended operating hours.

Required Qualifications:
