Position: Senior Associate, Carbon Finance, Catalytic Finance Accelerator
Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 USD
Position Overview:
The Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) is dedicated to making clean cooking accessible to the three billion people worldwide who lack access to it. Established in 2010, CCA drives consumer demand, mobilizes investment, and fosters an enabling environment for the clean cooking sector. The Alliance aims to achieve universal access to clean cooking by 2030, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals.
As part of its strategy to catalyze significant growth in funding and investment, CCA has launched the Catalytic Finance Accelerator. This initiative aims to leverage carbon finance and other forms of investment to address the funding gap in the clean cooking sector. The Senior Associate, Carbon Finance, will play a crucial role in aligning carbon finance projects, research, and communications across all ongoing initiatives of the Catalytic Finance Accelerator.
Essential Functions:
- Project Administration: Support projects that generate insights, analysis, and tools related to engaging voluntary carbon markets for the clean cooking ecosystem.
- Communication: Review and edit communications products on carbon finance in the clean cooking sector to ensure consistency across CCA’s carbon position and Catalytic Finance Accelerator initiatives.
- Cross-team Collaboration: Work effectively across teams at CCA, integrating carbon finance priorities into CCA strategies and programming.
- Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with consultants and vendors for research and technical assistance on carbon markets across Catalytic Finance Accelerator initiatives.
- Advisory Support: Assist the Senior Director, Innovative Finance, in advising Catalytic Finance Accelerator intervention workstreams on insights and trends related to carbon finance.
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree required; focus in economics, finance, environment, or related discipline preferred. Master’s preferred.
- 3-4 years of professional experience in carbon markets, including supporting the full carbon project cycle administration.
- Experience with raising external finance and/or preparing off-take agreements preferred.
- Data-driven with strong analytical skills; ability to handle and analyze data sets.
- Solutions-oriented with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team, across different time zones and cultures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
