Exim Bank is hiring for the position of Assistant Relationship Manager – Bancassurance in Arusha. Reporting to the Manager General Insurance and part of the Retail department, the role involves contributing to the development and implementation of sales and underwriting of insurance covers. The goal is to provide efficient insurance services, ensuring timely handling of all client-related matters and supporting business retention for sustainable and profitable operations.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate all Bancassurance activities in Arusha.
  • Handle retail and CIB portfolio with new and renewal business in Arusha, focusing on Medical, General, and Life insurance.
  • Maintain, generate, and manage existing and new businesses by establishing rapport with potential clients.
  • Negotiate insurance terms with insurers, provide competitive quotes, and propose solutions.
  • Analyze and assess proposal forms and risk notes within acceptable underwriting standards.
  • Attend to direct customers, provide prompt attention, and efficient service.
  • Provide guidance and training to bank staff and bancassurance champions on insurance matters in Arusha.
  • Perform periodic service visits to clients, handle claims follow-up, and update clients.
  • Monitor progress towards achieving targets and prepare weekly and monthly reports.
  • Participate in formulating and implementing marketing activities and promotions.
  • Ensure timely quotations, invoicing, dispatch, and tracking of documents to the Branches and respective customers.
  • Accountable for achieving annual income targets and timely collection of commissions from insurers.

Qualification and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in insurance, banking, risk management, law, actuarial science, finance, business administration, or related field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in the Insurance Industry with a focus on Operations, Underwriting, and Claims.
  • Minimum requirement certificate in insurance/CoP.
  • Excellent knowledge of insurance products and processes, regulatory requirements, and ability to drive business performance and revenues.
  • Good understanding of customer segmentation, needs, and an in-depth knowledge of distribution channel strategies.
  • Sworn Declaration of good character and solvency.
  • Strong passion and understanding of the insurance industry and its regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead, coach, and supervise team members effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of dealing with executives and clients at all levels.
