Job Description:
Alfa Pharmaceuticals Limited is seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Control Manager to join our team. This role involves managing the Quality Control (QC) staff and overseeing day-to-day operations of the QC laboratory. The incumbent will be responsible for analytical activities related to raw material and product testing, in-process and stability testing, laboratory equipment qualification, and QC oversight of clinical and commercial GMP operations. The role is pivotal in ensuring that products are tested to comply with safety and quality standards.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations within the QC group, ensuring compliance with current regulations and policies.
- Set quality control objectives and priorities in coordination with Operations and other managers to meet quality and timeline requirements.
- Review, author, and edit documents, including deviations, change control requests, SOPs, test methods, and technical reports.
- Actively participate in cross-functional teams and oversee QC-related compliance activities.
- Direct, lead, and perform investigations, implementing corrective and preventative action plans.
- Implement procedures and infrastructure to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and represent the department in regulatory audits.
- Provide accurate and timely delivery of data, supporting regulatory filings.
- Champion continuous improvement, define process improvement projects, and coach and mentor employees.
Quality/Regulatory Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate technical proficiency and apply cGMP standards.
- Ensure all documentation complies with cGMP standards.
- Contribute to audit readiness and participate in quality audits with FDA, other Regulatory Agencies, and customers.
- Ensure work complies with all state and federal regulations, including GMP, TMDA, and internal audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- Knowledge in Microbiology.
- 3+ years in a laboratory environment, preferably in the Pharmaceutical Industry, including 2+ years of team management.
- Extensive technical experience in the analysis of small molecules with knowledge of modern analytical techniques (HPLC, KF, FTIR, UV) and wet chemistry.
- Expertise in laboratory equipment and ability to train staff and troubleshoot issues.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate employees, with excellent communication skills.
- Team player with well-developed interpersonal, organizational, mentoring, and communication skills.
- Interest in learning and applying new techniques.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities while delivering exceptional work quality.
