Procurement Officer – Warehouse and Property Log

Job Overview:

ICAP, a global health leader affiliated with Columbia University, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Procurement Officer – Warehouse and Property Log. Based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the overall warehouse operations, including the receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of supplies, stock, materials, and assets to and from the warehouse and ICAP offices. Emphasizing safety, efficiency, and customer service, the Procurement Officer will manage the entire operation, ensuring the secure and effective storage and distribution of supplies on time and without damage. This role involves the development and implementation of both short- and long-term warehouse planning strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the overall operation of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, moving, and shipping supplies and assets.
  • Prioritize safety, efficiency, and customer service in warehouse operations.
  • Ensure the safe and effective storage and distribution of supplies and goods.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term warehouse planning strategies.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to coordinate logistics and optimize warehouse processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, ensuring timely reporting and replenishment.
  • Adhere to established procurement policies and procedures.
  • Provide regular reports on warehouse performance to management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in warehouse management and procurement processes.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with relevant software and systems for inventory management.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic warehouse planning.
