The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the implementing agency of the Federal Republic of Germany for technical and international cooperation, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its team in Zambia for the position of Procurement Specialist (Lusaka based).

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Procuring goods and services in accordance with GIZ rules and conditions.
2. Drawing up local subsidies (LS) and financing agreements (FAs) following GIZ rules and conditions.
3. Handling customs-related matters.
4. Supporting the Head of Finance and Administration in monitoring, communication to clients, and process optimization.
5. Supporting the Head of Finance and Administration in establishing and implementing digital solutions in the field of contracts and procurement.
6. Procurement of goods and services and customs declaration.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Business Administration (BBA), Purchasing and Supply, or a similar field; a master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Full membership of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) with a valid practicing license.
• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) is an asset.

Professional Experience:

• At least 4-5 years of professional experience in a comparable position.
• Broad experience in administration, purchasing, and supply.
• Experience in introducing new digital innovations/applications.

Other Knowledge and Additional Competencies:

• Excellent communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement/contracting processes.
• Excellent organizational skills with a strong capability to prioritize workload.
• Very good working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software, MS Teams, MS Office, especially advanced level proficiency in MS Excel).
• Fluency in English, both written and oral.
