DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

i. To design and supervise drilling and blasting plans.
ii. To assess the feasibility studies of new sites.
iii. To ensure that all drilling rigs and associated accessories are in good working order.
iv. To monitor and evaluate mines’ performance.
v. To manage construction projects in mines (e.g., to reclaim sites, fill in disused shafts, etc.).
vi. To ensure that operations and equipment comply with health, safety, and Environmental requirements.
vii. To record tracking and keeping in the mine’s operations.
viii. To assess mines equipment availability and utilization.
ix. To identify and recommend suitable mining methods and mining equipment and machinery.
x. To participate in feasibility studies of new mines.
xi. To identify and recommend suitable mining methods and mining equipment and machinery.
xii. To develop individual objectives or targets and all performance standards as part of the individual performance agreement in consultation with the immediate supervisor.
xiii. To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Holder of BSc. In Mining Engineering from a recognized Institution and must be computer literate. Must be registered by ERB as a Graduate Engineer.

REMUNERATION: Salary Scale: SMC. 5
