ACDI/VOCA, a nonprofit international development organization operating in 146 countries since 1963, is currently seeking dynamic individuals to join its team in Tanzania. The Feed the Future Tanzania Kilimo Tija Project, a part of the U.S. Government’s Global Food Security Strategy, aims to enhance economic prospects within horticulture market systems, with a focus on the youth demographic.

Overview:

The project’s objective is to fortify horticulture market systems, broaden access to climate-smart technologies, and enhance the conducive environment for market systems. The Zone of Influence includes the regions of Morogoro, Iringa, Mbeya, Njombe, and Zanzibar, along with key market sheds in Dar es Salaam, Songwe, and Arusha.

Agronomist/Extensionist Responsibilities:

• Provide regular technical field support to government extension officers, lead farmers, grantee staff, and non-grantee staff.
• Facilitate technical support from input companies to various groups in the implementation of project grants.
• Collaborate with specialists along the value chain to address constraints and ensure successful activities.
• Assist in ensuring the adoption of selected technologies by farmers and producers.
• Undertake other projects and duties as assigned.
