SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES

Under the authority of the Director of the UNESCO Regional Office for Central Africa and the supervision of the International Coordinator of the Luanda Biennial, regarding the realization of the 2021 edition of the Luanda Biennale and its follow-up as well that the management and implementation of the programs of the UNESCO Antenna in Angola:

Participate in the coordination of the work of the Permanent Secretariat of UNESCO, the Organizing Committee, the Scientific Committee and the Steering Committee of the Luanda Biennale;

Assist the Government of Angola, in particular the National Intersectoral Commission in charge of the Luanda Biennale and the national management team in charge of its organization in strengthening their institutional capacities in the area of ​​a culture of peace;

Monitor the implementation of the program and budget monitoring of the 2021 edition of the Luanda Biennale with cooperation with the African Union and the Government of Angola;

Participate in the coordination with the African Union and the Government of Angola of the participation of member states and partners participating in the 2021 edition of the Biennale and maintain relations with the countries / partners selected;

Coordinate with the permanent national team for the organization and logistics necessary for the 2021 Biennale at the national level, in particular within the framework of the Festival of culture and the program for young people;

Ensure the communication and visibility necessary for the success of the Biennale at the international level, in close coordination with the African Union and the Government of Angola;

Participate in the coordination with the Government of Angola and the African Union of the mobilization of resources and partners for the organization of the 2021 edition and to ensure the sustainability of this initiative, in particular within the framework of the Alliance partners ;

Coordinate with the African Union and the Government of Angola the edition of the Report and the evaluation of the 2021 edition in order to draw the lessons learned in order to ensure the conditions for the viability and sustainability of this continental initiative ;

Assist in running the UNESCO Antenna in Luanda: coordinate the implementation of the UNESCO / Angola framework agreement, coordinate UNESCO programs and further develop cooperation with the Government of Angola; participate in the activities of the United Nations Country Team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education : Higher diploma of university studies.

Years of experience  : At least 10 years of experience in the coordination and implementation of intersectoral / interdisciplinary programs - experience in the area of ​​conflict prevention / resolution.

Skills  : Development of partnerships and mobilization of resources, Institutional and digital communication, Programming and budgeting based on results, Teamwork, experience and knowledge of the structures and mechanisms of UN agencies, Cooperation with Member States and international institutions (particularly African Union).

Languages  : English and French as working languages, good knowledge of Portuguese (understanding and speaking) would be an asset.
