Description

IFC, as the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets, aims to stimulate investment activity across various regions. The IFC 3.0 strategy seeks to create new opportunities for private investments, particularly in Low-Income Countries (LICs) and Fragile and Conflict-affected States (FCS). To drive this approach, IFC is seeking an Investment Officer to join the Manufacturing, Agribusiness, and Services department in either Kigali, Rwanda, or Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Duties and Accountabilities

  • Support the identification and assessment of Upstream & Advisory and Investment opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of early-stage project collaborations, feasibility studies, and pilot projects in the Agri sector.
  • Design and implement scalable solutions and platforms across different African markets.
  • Lead client projects end-to-end, monitoring financial situations, procurement of consultant services, and providing reporting information.
  • Serve as part of the Agribusiness Upstream & Advisory team, supporting Project Leads as needed.

Selection Criteria

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Economics, Agribusiness, or relevant field.
  • 7-8 years of experience in project/program development, advisory, consulting, or related functions in emerging markets.
  • Strong quantitative skills, experience in investment banking/private equity, and familiarity with financial models.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders to encourage business and market development.
  • Proven track record in client relationship management and resolving challenges in multicultural environments.
  • Ability to deliver results under tight deadlines, with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Genuine commitment to development and understanding of IFC’s strategic priorities.
