Key Responsibilities:
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop daily chute distribution plan (10%)
- Develop and share a daily distribution plan with key supervisors.
- Supervise food scooping process (50%)
- Ensure beneficiaries receive their rightful entitlements during food distribution.
- Manage allocated food (10%)
- Adhere to food handling principles while managing food allocated to the chute.
- Supervise scoopers (10%)
- Provide oversight to scoopers assigned to the chute, ensuring quality service delivery.
- Compile distribution reports (5%)
- Compile and submit accurate reports on food distribution activities.
- Supervise chute cleanliness (5%)
- Ensure cleanliness of the chute at all times.
- Participate in food prepositioning exercises (10%)
- Actively participate in food prepositioning exercises to ensure preparedness.
Knowledge/Qualifications for the Role:
Required Professional Experience:
- One year of experience in humanitarian operations.
- Experience in commodities management and refugee programs.
Required Education/Training:
- Training in commodities management and response.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Advanced diploma in Accountant, Procurement, or Community Economy Development.
- A degree is considered an added advantage.
Travel/Work Environment Requirement:
- Refugee camps.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically fit.
Language Requirements:
- Proficient in both English and Swahili.
Key Working Relationships:
- WFP Field Staff: Daily contact to ensure effective communication during the distribution process.
- UNHCR Field Staff: Daily contact to address challenges related to beneficiary registration.
- Plan International: Daily contact regarding child protection issues associated with food services.
- Refugee Community Leaders: Regular contact for community-wide information dissemination.
- EDP Staff: Regular contact for food requests and related communication.
- FBM: Regular contact for understanding any discrepancies in a timely manner.
