Key Responsibilities:

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop daily chute distribution plan (10%)
    • Develop and share a daily distribution plan with key supervisors.
  • Supervise food scooping process (50%)
    • Ensure beneficiaries receive their rightful entitlements during food distribution.
  • Manage allocated food (10%)
    • Adhere to food handling principles while managing food allocated to the chute.
  • Supervise scoopers (10%)
    • Provide oversight to scoopers assigned to the chute, ensuring quality service delivery.
  • Compile distribution reports (5%)
    • Compile and submit accurate reports on food distribution activities.
  • Supervise chute cleanliness (5%)
    • Ensure cleanliness of the chute at all times.
  • Participate in food prepositioning exercises (10%)
    • Actively participate in food prepositioning exercises to ensure preparedness.

Knowledge/Qualifications for the Role:

Required Professional Experience:

  • One year of experience in humanitarian operations.
  • Experience in commodities management and refugee programs.

Required Education/Training:

  • Training in commodities management and response.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Advanced diploma in Accountant, Procurement, or Community Economy Development.
  • A degree is considered an added advantage.

Travel/Work Environment Requirement:

  • Refugee camps.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically fit.

Language Requirements:

  • Proficient in both English and Swahili.

Key Working Relationships:

  • WFP Field Staff: Daily contact to ensure effective communication during the distribution process.
  • UNHCR Field Staff: Daily contact to address challenges related to beneficiary registration.
  • Plan International: Daily contact regarding child protection issues associated with food services.
  • Refugee Community Leaders: Regular contact for community-wide information dissemination.
  • EDP Staff: Regular contact for food requests and related communication.
  • FBM: Regular contact for understanding any discrepancies in a timely manner.
