Location: Any East African WaterAid Country Programme (e.g., Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, or Kenya)
Salary: Competitive, varies by country (e.g., TZS 219,260,882 – TZS 274,076,102 in Tanzania)

About the Role: As the Regional Director for East Africa, you will play a pivotal role in delivering WaterAid’s ambitious Global Strategy 2022-2032. You will lead teams in catalyzing transformative changes, influencing stakeholders, and enhancing access to sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene for marginalized communities in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for country programs and the region.
- Effectively manage country programs, ensuring the successful delivery of multiyear plans.
- Contribute to wider organizational leadership, engaging at the global level on strategic priorities.
- Foster strategic collaboration and relationships at national, regional, and continental levels.
Requirements:
- Degree or professional qualification in a relevant subject.
- Substantial track record of senior-level work in international development.
- In-depth understanding of the East Africa context.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in cross-cultural management.
- Proven track record of policy influencing at regional and/or continental levels.
Desirable:
- Post-graduate degree in Development Studies, social sciences, or management.
- Experience in the international NGO sector.
- Understanding of and experience in the WASH sector.
