Job Purpose:
The Customer Assessment and Approval Officer (CAAO) plays a crucial role in assessing and approving loan applications, ensuring compliance with customer approval procedures. This role involves dealing with customer assessment-related cases, conducting credit assessments, and contributing to the continuous improvement process.
Responsibilities:
- Assess customers applying via the MySolGO app and ensure visibility in the PAYGEE.
- Follow up on escalated cases through accepted office network groups and channels.
- Approve customers who qualify after the assessment process.
- Educate customers on the assessment process, the consequences of providing false information, and the effects of non-payment (e.g., in CRB).
- Conduct credit assessment interviews for customers seeking additional appliances (upselling).
- Work independently on defined tasks and smaller projects identified jointly with the Head of CF or Team Leader.
- Complete assigned tasks in line with applicable policies, guidelines, processes, and procedures for appliances.
- Contribute ideas for the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) of the department.
- Seek opportunities for learning and development within Mobisol and through training.
- Undertake any other related duties assigned by line management.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience:
- Familiarity with income, expenditure, and cash flow patterns of rural and peri-urban households and micro-enterprises.
- Excellent skills in customer relationship management, finance principles, and service excellence.
- Previous experience in a business dealing with loans is a plus.
- Team player with computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in business administration, Microfinance, or a related field.
Language(s):
- Fluency in Swahili and English with excellent verbal communication skills.
Technology:
- Experience in using Microsoft applications, computer literacy, and smartphone proficiency.
