What You’ll Do:
- Oversee the daily purchasing of food, services, and supplies at various locations around Arusha for all campuses.
- Assist in preparing and implementing tenders as needed.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop internal control measures on inventory management and entire procurement processes.
- Contribute to the creation, amendment, and implementation of policies and procedures within the Procurement department.
- Assist with overseeing and conducting general shopping for other divisions in the school.
- Source competitive suppliers based on quality, price, and efficiency for all sections of the school.
- Assist in procurement audits following internal controls and general professional procurement practices.
- Conduct regular supplier reviews to ensure value for money and quality supplies.
- Ensure accurate capture and processing of all purchasing data on a daily basis before submission to the Purchasing Team Lead.
- Assist the Team Lead in creating contracts where appropriate while managing the goods receiving process on all campuses.
- Ensure all purchasing requests are completed within an appropriate timeframe as per procedure.
- Ensure all accounts and other documentation are clear, concise, and completed within the agreed timeframe.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in procurement or in supply chain and logistics.
- CPSP certification as recognized by PSPT Board (T), will be an added advantage.
- Computer skills: MS Excel, MS Word, Internet; knowledge of ERP systems would be an added advantage.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, both oral and written.
- Sound record-keeping and administrative skills.
- Demonstrated experience in purchasing.
- Competitive drive and a strong orientation for results and achievement.
- Professionalism and a strong presence in interactions with others.
- Accountability and consistency.
- Integrity, effectiveness, and responsiveness.
- Value for money and fair-dealing informed decision-making and transparency.
