  1. About the Company – Mpumalanga Attorneys Council
    • The Mpumalanga Attorneys Council, a substructure of the Law Society of the Northern Province, represents practicing attorneys in Mpumalanga. Its mission is to ensure public service by attorneys, irrespective of gender or race. The Council, comprised of 12 elected Mpumalanga attorneys, plays a pivotal role in the efficient service of local communities. It serves as an information source for the public, offering insights into attorneys, their services, and various legal processes.
  2. About the Bursary Program – Fields Covered
    • The Mpumalanga Attorneys Bursary Trust, established in 2005, aims to fund students residing in Mpumalanga pursuing Law qualifications.
  3. Eligibility Requirements
    • To be considered, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
      • South African citizen
      • Resident of Mpumalanga
      • Currently in Matric or have completed Matric
      • Excellent academic record
      • Studying or intending to study towards a Law qualification
      • Intending to pursue a career as an Attorney
  4. How to Apply for the Bursary

    • Submit clear copies of the following documents:
      • ID document (certified copy)
      • For Matric students: latest Matric statement of results (certified copy) and Testimonial by the School Principal
      • For tertiary students: Matric certificate (certified copy), full academic record (on tertiary letterhead), Proof of registration at a recognized South African university
      • Motivational letter explaining why you want to study Law and become a Lawyer/Attorney
