About BURN Manufacturing: BURN, with over 1,000 employees, is a global company committed to producing clean cookstoves. More than 50% of its workforce are women. Designed and produced in Kenya, BURN cookstoves are distributed worldwide. BURN is now in search of a Country Manager to oversee and coordinate all activities in Tanzania. In 2023, Tanzania is poised to become BURN’s most vital market with multi-million-dollar distribution projects for wood and charcoal.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all local initiatives, tasks, and people activities, ensuring timely and accurate execution as guided by HQ.
- Facilitate cross-functional in-country team meetings.
- Engage with local stakeholders, including regulators, guided by HQ.
- Coordinate legal, audit, and other issues requiring local attention as guided by HQ.
- Serve as the go-to person for OPCO issues, including financial probity, employee and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and execute a localized pricing strategy for PAYGO services balancing affordability, willingness to pay, and attractiveness for the local market.
- Ensure participation in local marketing and government events to promote the brand, guided by the relevant Global vertical Lead.
- Ensure employee engagement and task adherence to KPIs from Global Vertical Leads.
- Ensure country teams work in safe and conducive office facilities.
- Coordinate input of required data onto weekly cash-flow tracking sheets and their prompt submission to Finance.
- Track actual spending versus planned spending in the weekly cash-flow tracking template.
- Lead all B2B sales within the country and manage relationships with local distribution partners to meet BURN’s B2B sales objectives.
- Uphold the Burn Culture in the country, ensuring diversity and inclusion.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- 8+ years of proven experience in a senior management or executive role, preferably in Manufacturing, FMCG, or a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of the local market, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Financial acumen and the ability to manage budgets and financial performance.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, changing environment.
- Strong commitment to ethical business practices and compliance.
