Amani Centre for Street Children is a nationally registered NGO headquartered in Moshi, Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Amani is committed to reducing the number of children living on the street in Tanzania by providing a safe place for homeless children to heal, grow, and learn, and, when possible, reuniting them with their families and/or relatives. Amani has branches in the Arusha and Singida regions.

Amani is seeking to fill the following vacant positions with dynamic individuals to work with street-connected children and youths in Moshi, Arusha, Singida, and other neighbouring regions.

Street Workers (2 Positions)

Duty Station: Amani Centre for Street Children Arusha & Singida

Reporting to: Project Coordinator

Position Description:

The selected candidate will work intensively with street children and other social workers at Amani. S/he will manage street work caseloads, intervene, and mitigate cases for children and youths while still on the street or at the Centre. S/he in this position should be able to keep complete and confidential detailed data files of the children supported by Amani.

Minimum qualification and experience required:

  • A diploma or degree in social work, Community development, Sociology, or any other child-development related studies.
  • Fluency in oral and written English and Swahili.
  • At least two years of work experience in a closely related position.
