Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) is a renowned research organization in Tanzania dedicated to improving public health and well-being through cutting-edge research, innovation, and evidence-based solutions. As part of the MAP EA Node (Mobile Applications and Platforms East Africa Node) within IHI, we are looking for two passionate Research Scientists to join our team in Dar es Salaam. These roles offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to research, innovation, and technological advancements in the field of public health.
Position Overview:
As a Research Scientist at IHI’s MAP EA Node in Dar es Salaam, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team working on innovative projects aimed at addressing critical health challenges. Your responsibilities will include:
- Research Initiatives: Collaborating on research projects that explore new concepts and technologies to improve public health in Tanzania and the East African region.
- Data Analysis: Conducting data analysis and interpretation, using advanced tools and methodologies to derive meaningful insights from research data.
- Innovation: Contributing to the development of innovative solutions and technologies, particularly in the context of mobile applications and platforms for health research.
- Collaboration: Engaging in collaborative efforts with local and international partners, fostering a culture of knowledge exchange and teamwork.
- Publication: Preparing research findings for publication in scientific journals and conferences, sharing knowledge with the global research community.
- Mentorship: Providing guidance and mentorship to junior researchers and students, nurturing the next generation of scientific minds.
Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in a relevant field such as public health, epidemiology, computer science, data science, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven research experience, including a track record of publications and involvement in research projects.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
