The National Endowment for Democracy (NED), a federally funded, private, nonprofit grant making organization that works to support freedom around the world, seeks a Digital Producer, for Public Affairs. This position is part of the Government Relations and Public Affairs (GRPA) Department and is based in Washington, D.C.
Position Summary:
The Digital Producer manages the production of NED’s digital content and supports NED’s digital content strategy. The Digital Producer is responsible for developing new media content, producing multi-media web features including video stories, photos, graphics, audio, and other required content
Responsibilities:
Manages all aspects of video-related projects, ensuring projects are delivered on message and on schedule – including storyboarding, script review, video editing, and planning/coordinating equipment, services, and other requirements of studio and on-the-ground shoots.
Collaborate with Government Relations/Public Affairs team to acquire and develop grantee and partner stories.
Ensure visual elements and quality standards are maintained across the entire video and photo production process – both for internal and external production.
Manage optimization of YouTube page.
Lead optimization and maintenance of digital asset management tool.
Supports Digital Strategist and Public Affairs team on strategic web, social media, and multimedia distribution plans.
Responsible for professional photography needs of NED events, employees, the web site, and organization
Works with Digital Strategist and Public Affairs team to plan, coordinate, and conduct employee trainings on Adobe Creative Suite, copyright, photography, web, and video.
Keep up to date on digital media and web industry standards and trends.
Track digital analytics and produce monthly metrics reports.
Qualifications:
Knowledge/Experience
Background working in international affairs or development strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree (in Film/Video Production or Communications a plus); Minimum of 3-4 years of video/content production experience.
Knowledge of Canon DSLRs, audio recording equipment, and lighting for video and photos.
Event photography and/or portrait photography experience preferred.
Experience with animation and motion graphics desired.
Sample reel of video work is required.
Other Qualifications:
Proficiency in Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Studio, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Adobe After Effects as well as Vimeo, Wistia, YouTube.
Demonstrated web and multimedia skills, including experience with Adobe Creative Suite, and compressing video for the web
Knowledge of CMS software (WordPress).
Strong photo-editing skills (experience using Photoshop and Lightroom).
Social Media savvy.
Project management skills — excellent organization and communication capabilities, able to translate concepts and requirements into clear work plans and deliverables.

Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
Strong organization and attention to detail required.
Self-starter able to manage multiple workflows.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
This position is part of the NED Bargaining Unit.
