The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) began supporting HIV and AIDS programming in Tanzania in 2003 and established a country office in 2004. Ever since, in close collaboration and partnership with the Ministry of Health Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children and Presidents Office Regional Administration and Local Government, EGPAF expanded its scope to supporting quality comprehensive and integrated HIV, GBV, TB, and Family planning services in the supported regions. Recently, EGPAF in collaboration with consortium partners Amref Health Tanzania, EngenderHealth, D-tree International, and Matchboxology won the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)/Tanzania’s Comprehensive Client-Centered Health Program – HIV and Tuberculosis Northern (CH3P-HIV&TB) Activity contract.
Under C3HP, EGPAF offers USAID a responsive and forward-thinking approach that will address the evolving needs of the people of Tanzania as they relate to HIV, TB, and FP services across each continuum.

Job Summary
The Data Analyst /Biostatistician is supervised by Director Monitoring and Evaluation and will receive technical oversight from Director Research and Evaluation. The Data Analyst /Biostatistician supports the data processing (entry, cleaning, management) and data analysis of routine program and evaluation data collected under IRB-approved protocols where appropriate. The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the EGPAF technical MEL team members in higher-level data analytics, and capacity building in data use and interpretation. The Data Analyst /Biostatistician will provide guidance in evaluation design, specifically with regard to sampling, tool development, data capture systems, and validation/cleaning of evaluation datasets.
He/she will actively seek new knowledge and skills in evaluation/research concepts (design, ethics, methods, qualitative and quantitative data management, use, analysis). The Data Analyst /Biostatistician must be able to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team, will participate in field-level data quality assurance activities, and is expected to develop innovative solutions to program challenges or spurious findings, derived from critical analyses of the program and/or evaluation datasets and indicators.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides statistical support in evaluation design, protocol development, interim analysis, and publications and presentation.
Develops routine (batch) analyses routines to support program data reviews and project status updates to the SIE and technical teams.
Required Qualifications
Masters degree in health, social welfare, (bio)statistics, epidemiology, computer science, or related field.
Five years work experience in evaluation/research implementation OR monitoring and evaluation with engagement in research activities, including experience with data collection data entry, and field coordination.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills (English and Kiswahili); strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and attentiveness to detail.
A high level of computer literacy is defined by proficiency in the basic Microsoft packages. Proficiency in statistical analysis software and/or data management is an advantage.
