Job Summary

The Community Operations Coordinator position supports strategic policy planning to enhance the administration and operations of assigned ICANN community groups and specific cross-functional projects as assigned by the reporting manager. The position requires excellent organization, strong communication, and extensive coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform assignments via the community operations framework managed by the Policy Development Support function, including but not limited to:

• Support the planning, prioritization, governance, and other collaborative work of the chairs of the Supporting Organizations and Advisory Committees

• Support the policy development work and organizational work of the Commercial Stakeholder Group and its three constituencies: The Business Constituency, the Internet Service Providers and Connectivity Providers Constituency, and the Intellectual Property Constituency

• Support the policy development work and organizational work of the Noncommercial Stakeholder Group and its two constituencies: The Noncommercial Users Constituency and the Not-for-Profit Operational Concerns Constituency

• Support policy implementation teams and other ICANN community projects which involve or otherwise require the assistance of the Policy Development Support function, including specific cross-functional projects as assigned

• Develop administrative and operational expertise using approved platforms, software, and tools to ensure efficient and effective progress of assigned ICANN community groups’ work

• Coordinate multiple projects in parallel, managing administrative and operational workflows to maximize efficiency

• Schedule and support teleconferences, webinars, and in-person meetings, including follow-up work as needed such as tracking action items, retrieving records, etc.

• Assist with the creation, updating, and publication of agendas, documents, manuals, presentations, spreadsheets, and other materials

• Manage and maintain wikis, calendars, shared documents, mailing lists, and other collaborative tools deployed for assigned ICANN community groups and specific cross-functional projects

• Develop reports, perform regular audits and analysis, and maintain relevant data via community relations management software

• Liaise with other internal organizational functions and community representatives and leaders to pro-actively resolve problems and enhance coordinate efforts

• Other duties as assigned or requested


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Excellent organization, strong communication and extensive coordination skills with a stakeholder focus

• Proficiency using Slack, Atlassian Confluence, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), and Google Drive (Google Docs, Google Forms, Google Sheets, and Google Slides)

• Strong project coordination skills

• Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to multitask

• Ability to work with highly diverse workforce

• Ability to work independently

• Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion

• Curiosity and passion for the development of the Internet

Education and Experience Requirements

• High School diploma or international equivalent required

• Minimum two years of related administrative experience or equivalent required

• Fluency, both written and spoken, in English is required


Working Conditions & Physical Requirements


• International travel may be required to support ICANN-related meetings as requested for lengths of 7-10 days for each trip, approximately three times per year, likely on different continents

• Willingness and ability to travel domestically as needed

• Comfort level with an international work environment that requires availability at times outside normal business hours, seven days per week
