Enabel, the Belgian development agency, is seeking four (4) passionate and experienced drivers to support its projects in Dar es Salaam, Pemba, Kigoma, and Mwanza. The selected candidates will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient transportation of people and goods, thereby contributing to the organization’s mission of building a sustainable world where all can thrive.

Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Administrative Assistant, the drivers will be responsible for safely transporting people and goods to assigned destinations while upholding Enabel’s values and image. They will ensure the vehicles are well-maintained, perform basic maintenance checks, and execute minor repairs when necessary. Additionally, they will handle logistical and administrative tasks to support project activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely transport people and goods to assigned destinations.
Maintain vehicles in good condition and conduct regular maintenance checks.
Ensure compliance with traffic laws and internal procedures.
Handle mail/correspondence deliveries and pickups.
Report accidents or incidents immediately and follow necessary procedures.
Record all trips in the logbook and perform administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Tanzanian national.
Secondary School Certificate (CSEE).
Advanced Driving Certificate from VETA or NIT.
Minimum of 5 years’ professional driving experience with a safe driving record.
Valid Driving License class C.
Proficiency in Kiswahili and English.
Basic skills in minor vehicle repairs and maintenance.
Clean Traffic Police Record.
Knowledge of major roads and city plans in the assigned regions.

Offer:

Contract for Specific Period, 24 months.
Monthly gross salary in accordance with Enabel’s salary scales (Class 1A) and additional benefits.

Estimated start date: April 1, 2024.
